1. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of services provided by Tockwise ("we," "us," "our"), a watch repair and restoration workshop registered and operating at 248 Thonglor Soi 13, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand.

By submitting a timepiece for service, making an enquiry through our website at tockwise.cyou, or entering into a service agreement with us, you agree to these terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with a service request.

These terms are written in English. In the event of a dispute, the Thai-language interpretation of any relevant law takes precedence, but we will make reasonable efforts to communicate with clients in the language of their choice.

2. Service Enquiries & Estimates

All quotations provided before a timepiece is physically inspected are indicative only. A firm estimate will be issued after an in-person or documented assessment of the watch has been completed.

Estimates are valid for 14 calendar days from the date they are issued. After this period, we reserve the right to reassess the work required if market conditions or parts availability have changed.

We will not begin any work beyond an initial inspection without your written or verbal confirmation of the quoted scope and price. If you are submitting a watch by post or courier, written confirmation via email is required before work proceeds.

3. Accepting Work & Authorisation

When you leave a timepiece with us, you confirm that you are either the owner of that piece or have explicit written authority from the owner to commission repair work.

Where the condition of a watch reveals additional work not covered by the original estimate — for example, a component found to be worn beyond safe tolerance during disassembly — we will contact you before proceeding. Work beyond the agreed scope will not be carried out without a revised authorisation.

A signed or emailed acceptance of our condition report constitutes authorisation for the agreed scope of work.

4. Pricing & Payment

All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (THB / ฿) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Payment is due upon collection of the timepiece, or prior to return shipping if you have arranged for a watch to be sent back to you.

We accept cash (THB) and major bank transfers. Where a partial deposit is agreed to cover parts procurement, this will be stated in the written estimate.

If the agreed total is not settled within 30 days of the work being completed and the client notified, a storage charge may apply. Extended non-payment may be escalated under Thai consumer protection law.

5. Turnaround Times

Estimated turnaround times given at the point of estimate are guides only. Actual completion depends on the availability of parts, the depth of work revealed during disassembly, and the current workload of the bench.

We will communicate any significant change to the expected timeline as soon as it becomes known. Delays caused by parts sourcing from overseas suppliers, courier transit, or circumstances outside our control do not constitute a breach of these terms.

Indicative lead times by service type:

  • Mechanical Movement Care — typically 2 to 3 weeks
  • Case & Bracelet Refinishing — typically 1 to 2 weeks
  • Heritage Overhaul — varies; confirmed after initial assessment

6. Care of Your Timepiece

We apply professional care standards throughout every service. Each timepiece is handled individually and stored securely when not on the bench. All watches in our care are held in a temperature-controlled environment away from direct sunlight and humidity.

Photographs are taken upon intake of every item. For Heritage Overhaul services, photographic documentation is made at each stage of the restoration process and shared with the client upon completion.

In the unlikely event that a part is inadvertently damaged during service, we will disclose this promptly and take reasonable steps to address the issue at no additional cost. Our liability in such cases is limited as described in Section 9.

7. Parts & Components

Where possible, we use original manufacturer parts or equivalent-quality period-correct components. For vintage and collectible pieces, we will discuss parts sourcing with you before placing any order.

For Heritage Overhaul services, small worn components may be fabricated in-house where originals are no longer available. This will always be done transparently and documented in the final report.

Replaced parts removed from your watch will be returned to you upon request. If you do not request them at the time of collection, replaced parts may be disposed of after 14 days.

8. Collection & Unclaimed Items

We will notify you when your timepiece is ready for collection via the contact details you provided. Collection is available during working hours: Monday to Friday 10:00–18:30, Saturday 10:00–16:00. We are closed on Sundays and Thai public holidays.

If a completed item is not collected within 60 days of notification, we may apply a reasonable storage charge. Items unclaimed after 180 days from the notification date may, after reasonable attempts to contact the owner, be subject to disposal under applicable Thai law. Any proceeds from disposal would be applied first to outstanding charges.

9. Limitation of Liability

Our liability for loss of or damage to a timepiece in our care is limited to the market replacement value of that watch at the time it was submitted for service, as agreed between both parties at intake. We strongly recommend that clients maintain their own insurance for valuable timepieces.

We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing undisclosed conditions that become apparent during disassembly
  • Damage resulting from the natural age or brittleness of original components in vintage pieces
  • Consequential or indirect losses, including loss of use during the service period
  • Loss or delay caused by third-party courier services used to transport items to or from our workshop

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Thai law.

10. Warranties & Post-Service Coverage

Mechanical Movement Care and Case & Bracelet Refinishing services carry a 12-month post-service period during which we will assess, at no charge, any issues that appear to be directly related to the work carried out. This assessment does not apply to damage from impact, water ingress beyond the tested pressure rating, or misuse.

Heritage Overhaul services carry a 6-month review period, given the inherently variable nature of vintage movements and the use of original or fabricated period components.

Post-service coverage does not extend to wear through regular use, which is the nature of all mechanical timepieces.

11. Intellectual Property

All written content, photography, and design materials on our website are the property of Tockwise or used with appropriate permission. You may not reproduce or redistribute these without our written consent.

Condition reports, restoration photographs, and documentation produced during your service are shared with you for personal use. Tockwise retains the right to use anonymised or non-identifying documentation internally for training and quality purposes.

12. Website Use

Our website at tockwise.cyou is provided for informational purposes and to facilitate service enquiries. We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant that website content is complete, error-free, or applicable to every individual circumstance.

The contact form is for general enquiries. Submission of the form does not constitute a service contract or reservation of bench time. A service relationship begins only when a formal condition report is issued and accepted.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from a service engagement with Tockwise shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts. We would always prefer to resolve concerns directly and informally before any formal process is considered.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, applicable law, or our business practices. Changes take effect from the date shown at the top of this page. If you have an active service engagement at the time of a change, the terms in place when the service was authorised will continue to apply to that engagement.
